Daily report #76

Men

Take the leftover food from yesterday. That was an undercooked lasagna without lasagna sheets but with fettuccine pasta. Good taste, but quite 'al molar'. Not so al dente. Throw it in a pan and add water. Add two maggi cubes and a potato in pieces. Add a carrot cut into pieces. Add the leftover 'chunky' pasta sauce. And just cook. Half an hour.
The result is a delicious farmer's potato tomato soup. I add the term farmers since it is a nice thick, filled soup. All farmers angry again.
Sprinkle some grated cheese on top and add some bacon and enjoy. Today's hot lunch. I love it. One pan dishes.
Mark is baking a new bread today so at least we have easy food for tomorrow. Tomorrow the wind will blow 27 knots. Thus predict wind. Usually it is correct. With the gusts you are close to Bft 7-8. Then you have a lumpy ship under your ass. Difficult gourmet cooking. But we have experienced that before. Starving takes a lot more time than keeping things intact in bad weather.
It's actually starting to warm up a bit since this morning. The sea is two degrees warmer and the worst of the windchill has disappeared somewhat. We are therefore at 23 degrees south latitude. That is at the northern latitude of Mauritania between Cape Verde and the Canary Islands. I imagine it's warmer there. The albatrosses were back, as were the storm petrels and small seagulls. The Chinese fishing boat was also a must and the refrigerator is turned on less and less. That damn thing remains a power guzzler.
We are making good progress. If we can keep up the pace we could arrive on site on Saturday afternoon.
That could be unfavorable because as far as I know, the English really like their weekend rest.
Luckily they always politely say no.

Relax don't do it.

Greetings Mark and Ton
