Daily report #110
Monday, 9 October 2023
And the wind came last night. During my watch, the Kalosini suddenly began to heel and pick up speed. What a beautiful feeling! At first it's even a bit oppressive, as if you were riding your speed bike for the first time.
7 knots through the water with 13 knots of wind. Delicious. We sailed through the day like this, climbing and descending over a beautiful swell. Nice to trim the sails properly again and get the most out of the knots of wind. Our happiness lasted exactly 10 hours. The weather remains beautiful, the wind is again conspicuous by its absence. But tonight we have been told that everything will be fine again! Time for the books while enjoying a whirring engine pffff. I am happy with all the E-books that Rene has given me. In between I listen to professional literature; a podcast about the Titanic. Always fun when you slide over 5,000 meters of water in a nutshell. Fortunately, I don't suffer from fear of depths. Few icebergs too. Started baking bread again today so as not to get out of rhythm. Ton has made an attempt to improve the lighting in the cabin, unfortunately the electrical system has secrets that are unfathomable even to Ton. To be able to end the day satisfied
he has prepared a delicious potato vegetable chorizo meal, with dessert! Pineapple with yogurt drink. Delicious food. The coming days will be dominated by disturbances in the atmosphere, which with a bit of luck can give us a nudge in the right direction. Stay tuned!
Regards,
Ton and Mark
